THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD OF TATARSTAN DISCUSSED THE CREATION OF AQUABIOCULTURE TECHNOPOLIS

A WORKGROUP FEATURING REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD, THE MINISTRY OF ECOLOGY, SCIENTIFIC AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC WILL BE CREATED.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan held a meeting with the potential residents of an aquabioculture technopolis.

Among the participants in the meeting were Marat Ahmetov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food, Ravil Muratov, Assistant to the President of Tatarstan, Tahir Khadeev, Chairman of the Committee of Ecology, Environmental Management, Agroindustrial and Food Policy of the State Council of Tatarstan, Alexander Novikov, President of the Union of Sturgeon Breeders, members of the Republic Council of Reproduction of Aquatic Biological Resources and Aquaculture Development in the Republic of Tatarstan, pond fish culture executives and sole proprietors working in the field of fish farming.

According to Ravil Muratov, a concept of aquabioculture technopolis development has been prepared taking into account the existing experience of successful fish farms.

Alexander Novikov, President of the Union of Sturgeon Breeders said that the Republic of Tatarstan could implement a project including all useful reservoirs (both natural and artificial). He also added that one of the future tasks was establishing an organization that would train and consult people, and make on-site visits.

Marina Kalayda, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the “Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture” Department of Kazan State Power Engineering University proposed to develop a pilot project of creating a fish-farming educational cluster. The educational cluster is supposed to be created at the “Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture” Department and in Chistopol, Menzelinsk, Tetyushi and Atninskiy agricultural schools.

Radik Salahov, Director of ООО “Zinskiy Rybhoz” shared his experience of fish production organization. He mentioned the following areas of support: subsidization of fish seed increase, increase and realization of grown fish, electric power, compound feed and production insurance.

Mannur Nigmatzyanov, Chairman of KFH Association of Yelabuzhsky District made proposals on the subsidization of building and installation work.

At the end of the meeting, the participants adopted a decision of fine tuning of the concept of aquabioculture technopolis development and creation of a workgroup featuring representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Ecology, scientific and other organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan. 
