Nothum Food Processing Systems, a leading manufacturer of further processing equipment headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, is expanding customer support and product development capabilities through its recently opened Solutions Studio. The facility enables food manufacturers from the U.S. and around the world to evaluate processing technologies, optimize production lines, and validate product quality before investing in equipment.
Nothum is recognized for its expertise in pre-dust and breading, battering and tempura, and continuous frying technologies that help food processors produce high-quality coated products. Supported by a global network of sales and service locations and operations in the Netherlands, the company designed the Solutions Studio as a hands-on environment where customers can work alongside Nothum specialists to develop and refine processing solutions.

A Center for Testing, Training and Product Development
The Solutions Studio showcases Nothum’s complete portfolio of processing technologies, including the SuperFlex homestyle breading machine, the BatterPro batter and tempura system, the ProTherm continuous thermal fryer, and supporting equipment such as the AcuFeeder breading feeder and EzFlow frying oil filtration system. Customers can configure complete processing lines to match their own production requirements and conduct trials under real manufacturing conditions. Working together with Nothum’s sales, engineering and food technology teams, processors can evaluate different product formulations, optimize equipment settings and validate production performance before implementing new or upgraded processing lines.

Beyond the production area, the facility includes a fully equipped commercial kitchen for product preparation, cooking and product evaluation, as well as a dedicated training space for maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment education.
“The Solutions Studio is our center of excellence,” said Henri Janssen, General Manager of Nothum in Oirschot, the Netherlands. “It allows food manufacturers to optimize production efficiency while maintaining product quality and experience firsthand how our technologies contribute to texture, crispiness and overall product performance.”

Supporting Food Processors Worldwide
Since opening in May 2026, the Solutions Studio has welcomed customers from multiple regions, including North America, South America and Asia. The facility provides manufacturers with the opportunity to test products, compare processing methods and evaluate complete line configurations in a controlled environment before making investment decisions.
The Solutions Studio replaces the need to rely solely on reference production facilities by giving customers direct access to Nothum’s equipment and technical expertise. Throughout each trial, Nothum specialists work closely with customers to define objectives, analyze production challenges, optimize machine settings and document processing results.
To simplify international trials, Nothum also assists customers with logistics, including sourcing ingredients locally when importing raw materials is impractical. This hands-on support enables processors to focus on evaluating products and production performance.

An additional advantage is the Studio’s location within Nothum’s 90,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, where approximately 60,000 square feet—nearly two-thirds of the building—is dedicated to the design, fabrication, and assembly of Nothum equipment. During the visit, customers can tour the production floor to experience the craftsmanship, precision engineering, and quality standards behind every machine, gaining valuable insight into equipment construction and long-term reliability.
Flexible Technology for a Wide Range of Applications
The Solutions Studio is designed to support testing across a broad range of food applications, including poultry, seafood, beef, vegetables, alternative proteins and other coated products. Its modular processing line accommodates multiple configurations, including pre-dust, batter, breading, double-pass coating and frying. This flexibility allows manufacturers to evaluate lightly coated, heavily coated and tempura-style products while tailoring processing parameters to their individual production requirements.
Nothum equipment is designed to serve both medium- and high-volume production. While larger systems utilize a 40-inch (1,000 mm) conveyor belt, smaller configurations use narrower belt widths while maintaining the same processing technology and product quality.
The Studio is equipped with systems and monitoring tools that capture key process data throughout each trial. Customers can monitor core product temperatures, measure coating pickup after every processing stage and analyze production performance using detailed process data. These insights help validate product quality, optimize efficiency and support confident investment decisions.
“Customers can experience firsthand how advanced our processing technologies are,” Janssen said. “Our continued investment in automation, process control and product development enables manufacturers to improve efficiency while consistently producing high-quality products.”
By combining advanced processing technology with practical product development, technical training and collaborative engineering support, the Nothum Solutions Studio strengthens the company’s commitment to helping food processors optimize production and bring innovative products to market with confidence.
