Agroprodmash–2019. Broke All Records and Showed the Industry Key Trends

The 24th edition of the International Exhibition for Equipment, Technologies, Raw Materials and Ingredients for the Food Processing Industry “Agroprodmash-2019” was held from October 7 to 11, 2019 at Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow.

The exhibition was arranged by “Expocentre” and officially supported by Russian Ministry of Agriculture and under the patronage of Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The exhibition was also supported by industrial unions, associations and research institutes.

Dmitriy Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation:
– The “Agroprodmash” exhibition is one of the largest industry events in Europe. It successfully contributes to the development of international relations and modernization of food production infrastructure. I believe that the eventful business program of the exhibition will help determine the growth points of Russian agribusiness, strengthen international collaboration and establish contacts between the market players.

As usual, “Agroprodmash–2019” was held at a very high level, and once more proved to be the largest trade fair in Eastern Europe and exhibition number 1 in Russia.

The exhibition became an established business platform for food processing industry. During the exhibition, the participants were conducting negotiations and signing contracts. “Agroprodmash” is a key date in the calendar for all top management teams (decision makers, chief engineers, technologists) of the industry enterprises.

Among the participants in the official opening ceremony of “Agroprodmash–2019” were First Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council of the Russian Federation on Agrarian and Food Policy, and Environmental Management, Sergey Lisovskiy, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Moscow Region, Andrey Razin, Deputy Director of Food Processing Industry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Skvortsov, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Maxim Fateev, President of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Platonov, Chief Executive Officer of AO “Expocentre”, Sergey Bednov and other officials.

Sergey Lisovskiy read the welcoming speech of the First Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council, Nikolay Fiodorov, in which the “Agroprodmash” exhibition was praised as an effective platform for exchange of practical experience and innovative solutions.

The speakers said that the exhibition is a key industry event showcasing a wide range of brand new equipment, machines and components used for food production, and a main platform for signing major contracts.

The participants in the official opening ceremony thanked “Expocentre” for their hospitality and organization of a wonderful exhibition, and congratulated them on their 60th anniversary.

Immediately after the exhibition opening, there was a ceremony of stamping a special envelope dedicated to “Expocentre”. This ceremony was conducted by Sergey Lisovskiy, Vladimir Skvortsov, Maxim Fateev and Sergey Bednov.

During the VIP tour, the participants and guests had the chance to see the exposition. They praised the level and quality of the presented equipment.

“Agroprodmash–2019” was visited by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov. The Head of the Ministry paid particular attention to the booths of Russian companies, such as “Integral Plus”, “Tauras-Phoenix”, “Bestrom”, “Molochnye Mashiny Russkih”, “Oriolpishemash”, Shebekinskiy machine-building plant and many other manufacturers of Russian equipment for food processing industry.

An important event was the visit of an Italian delegation headed by ICE President Carlo Ferro. The ICE Director said that “Agroprodmash” was very important for promoting Italian equipment manufacturers in the Russian market.

EXPOSITION
“Agroprodmash–2019» reached record highs by any standards. Compared to last year, the exhibition area increased by 9%, while the number of exhibitors and visitors increased by 8%.

According to the audit data, “Agroprodmash–2019” exposition welcomed 939 participants from 33 countries at the area of over 62 000 sq. m., including world leaders in equipment production and solutions for food industry from Germany, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, USA, Belgium and France.

The exhibition was visited by 26,579 experts (by 8.2% more than in 2018) from 74 countries.
New companies, not only Russian, but foreign as well were presented at the exposition.

The visitors showed particular interest in the world premieres. For the first time in the Russian market, the exhibition showcases brand new Handtmann equipment used for technological operations of a wide range of production processes — from the production of classic sausages to innovative products. ULMA company presented its green label packaging solutions. The company’s new solutions in the field of sustainable packages generated much interest among Russian processors.

On the national level, the exposition welcomed companies from Germany, Italy, China, Denmark and Belgium. Taiwan was presented by a collective stand.

This year, the exhibition presented 502 Russian companies: manufacturers, importers and dealers, including 290 manufacturers from all regions of Russia. The government support measures, without any doubt, improve the chances for launching new Russian equipment in the market. This year, according to the Russian Export Center, 54 Russian companies participated in the exhibition.

Moreover, the regions more actively subsidize the participation of their own companies. In 2019, with the help of Russian regional structures, the exhibition was attended by companies from Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kirov, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Saratov, Sverdlov, Chelyabinsk, Tver, Tula regions, Altai and Stavropol Krai.

“Agroprodmash” exhibition allowed the visitors not only to evaluate the situation in the sector, but to identify key trends in the industry. The food and beverage producers were focused on automation, robotization, high quality food raw materials and ingredients. The global digitalization of the machines, technical services and telecommunication technologies are on trend now. Serious attention was given to sustainability, particularly to modern packaging solutions. The visitors showcased their innovative ideas in the field of environmental protection and reasonable use of natural resources. One of the important trends was the innovative solutions for high quality food raw materials and ingredients.

The greatest progress in 2019 was shown by such salons as “APM Ingredients”, “APM Packaging Equipment”, “APM Fruit Production”, “APM Health and Hygiene”. The salons “APM Meat Production” and “APM Poultry Production” dominated the exhibition once again. The salons “APM Bread Production”, “APM Confectionary Production”, “APM MolTech”, “APM Filling” and “APM Beverages” showed stable growth.

175 companies from 19 countries participated in the largest salons – “APM Meat Production” and “APM Poultry Production”. The leading foreign equipment manufacturers from Germany, Austria, Belarus, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Iceland, Switzerland, USA and many others showed their achievements at the exhibition.

The largest exposition of the salon “APM Ingredients” presented the most popular brands of the European market and Russian manufacturers. More than 100 companies from 25 countries presented their ingredients and process additions for different sectors of the food processing industry. Among them were not only key participants but also new Russian and foreign companies.

“APM Packaging Equipment” salon grew due to the greater number of permanent participants, and due to the participation of new Russian and foreign exponents. 140 companies from 19 countries showcased the newest trends in food packaging, as well as automation and robotization solutions.
The expositions of the salons “APM Bread Production”, “APM Confectionary Production” presented over 140 companies from Austria, UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Sweden.

“APM Health and Hygiene” salon grew due to the greater number of participants and larger exhibition space. More than 40 companies from Russia, Germany, Italy and Poland showcased their solutions there.
The participants of the salon “APM Fruit Production” increased their presence due to the growth of the demand for solutions in vegetable and fruit processing. The exposition showcased equipment from 9 countries. 

The salons “APM MolTech”, “APM Filling” and “APM Beverages” also showed significant growth. The salons “APM Cold” and “APM Recycling” welcomed larger number of new Russian and foreign participants.
In addition to all these salons, the exhibition presented interesting technological solutions dedicated to production and processing of fish and seafood, ice cream equipment, food production automation, logistics, weighing and measuring equipment, industrial flooring, food safety and quality control.

BUSINESS PROGRAM
The rich business program of the exhibition presented the potential development strategy in all sectors of the food industry. The key topics of 2019 were digital technologies as the main driving force behind the agribusiness growth, robotization of the food production, tools and technologies of lean manufacturing, innovative technologies in meat, dairy, confectionary and baking sectors, vegetable and fruit processing, refrigerating solutions for food industry, safe production environment, etc.
Important meetings of different unions and associations were held at the exhibition which defined the paths for industry development.

“Agroprodmash–2019” also included an educational program. There were seminars, business cases, training courses and refresher training with diplomas awarded by the state. The leading Russian research institutes presented their newest solutions, including food technologies.

The recruitment center of “Agroprodmash–2019” solved a number of staff problems. Several companies, such as “EDVANTA”, “RUSBANA”, “Atlantis-Pak”, “Moguncia-Interrus”, “Profholod”, “Forintek”, “Unibright Rus” and many others offered more than 60 jobs. The leading positions were “Equipment Sales Manager” and “Food Ingredient Sales Manager”. The recruitment center also showed beneficial trends for young people. Curious trends of 2019: the interest of students and employers becomes mutual: now companies, including small and medium-sized businesses, are more willing to hire students. Moreover, there are more and more interesting jobs with extended benefits package for experts in the region.

During the entire exhibition, there were consultation centers, particularly for ingredients, refrigeration and confectionary industry.
The exhibition also featured the “Expocentre for Counterfeit–Free Exhibition” Project aimed at the prevention of counterfeit products showcasing at exhibitions.

The traditional Boning Operator Competition had many fans, as usual.
