VOLGOGRAD REGION HAS APPEARED IN THE TOP TEN OF FISH PRODUCTION

In spite of the fact that many consider that the best fish is the sausage, fish products have always been respected by Russians.

The development of fishing industry has become priority, especially after the country has been imposed to retaliatory sanctions, which affected the supply of these products from abroad. The Federal Agency for Fishery has analysed in which regions the fishing industry is the most developed. It turned out that Volgograd region is among the top ten. More than 2240 tonnes of output has been produced here in a year.

Moscow became a leader with the rate of 144 thousand tonnes. On the second place is Rostov-on-Don (14.5 thousand tonnes) and Murmansk Oblast (13.5 thousand tonnes).

It was not surprising that Astrakhan and Primorsky Krai were before Volgograd.

In fact, the fish-breeding enterprises in Volgograd District released more than 2.5 million young sturgeon and about 200 thousand of young starlet in various water bodies in the region in 2014. It was planned to be released another 2.5 million in the year 2015. These figures are among the largest in five years.
