Food industry has made a

(r)evolution at the leading Bulgarian and Southeastern European exhibition MEATMANIA, WORLD OF MILK, BULPEK, SALON DE VIN, INTERFOOD AND DRINK. More than 380 companies from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Turkey, Macedonia, and Serbia demonstrated a variety of new energy efficient technologies and a wide range of products. 144 were the new participants this year.

“There was an extremely high interest for yet another year, and the growth of visitors was about 20% more than last year,” reported the organizers of Inter Expo Center. There was more than 15% increase of exhibitors as shown by the results. Each exhibition has its own character and it is organized in partnership with professional organizations in various sectors. However, the interesting thing is that the exhibitions are held at the same time, sharing one and the same idea of developing food industry and presenting clients and customers the best solutions, the best quality of food and beverages.

This year, there were collective booths of Bulgarian companies from various sectors of industry, dairies, meat processors, bakeries, wine, and organic producers. There were collective participations of companies from Italy and Hungary. Such collective participations provide greater business opportunities for exchanging experiences and good practices.

“Therefore, led by the desire to develop this trend, the initiative for a partner country of the exhibition INTERFOOD & DRINK was carried out for the second year,” said Mr. Ivaylo Ivanov, the manager of Inter Expo Center. This year Hungary was the partner country. There was exceptionally big interest on behalf of Hungarian businesses and a special delegation of producers and traders of wine, typical food and drinks arrived to make meetings with Bulgarian companies from the food and HoReCa sector.

A quite various and interesting ORGANIC ZONE and DIET AND FITNESS ZONE impressed the visitors for yet another year. The healthy and certified products aroused considerable interest.

“Gold Medal with Diploma” contests for quality food and beverages were held for yet another year as well as a Consumer Contest.

Along with the exhibitions of MEATMANIA, WORLD OF MILK, BULPEK, SALON DE VIN, INTERFOOD AND DRINK, there was another important one called SIHRE and it was the biggest Bulgarian exhibition for hotel, restaurant and catering equipment. The winner, who will represent Bulgaria at the European selection of international competition Bocuse d’Or in Budapest in 2016, was announced. During the qualification rounds, 60 countries will compete for a place in the finals in Lyon in France in January 2017.

Moreover, the initiative Garden to Business was held for the first time at SIHRE. The main goal was to tighten the relationship between small producers with owners of hotels and restaurants.

The organizers reported that 19,200 professionals and guests attended this year’s MEATMANIA, WORLD OF MILK, BULPEK, SALON DE VIN, INTERFOOD AND DRINK and SIHRE. Over 70% of the visitors came to find new partners and to make useful business contacts. The variety of conferences on current issues, presentations, product demonstrations divided by sectors and B2B meetings proved once again the importance of the exhibitions for the food sector industry in Bulgaria.
