- Your company has a long family tradition in knife-making. Can you tell us more about its origins and heritage?
Our company was founded in 1928 and has a history of about 100 years. In the beginning we produced knives of all kinds, over the last 30 years we spezialised ourselves in the production of Professional Butcher Knives. In most countries we cooperate directly or indirectly with the major meat companies. But we are still looking for contacts in several countries, requests are welcome. - What makes your knives unique in terms of quality, craftsmanship, and the “Made in Solingen” label?
Our company is located in Solingen/Germany, which is the most well known city in the world in respect of High Class quality cutlery. There are various qualitative requirements for a product to be allowed to bear the name ‘made in Solingen’. This and more is our benchmark in the production of our knives. - How do you combine traditional manufacturing techniques with modern technologies and innovation?
Manufacturing has changed significantly since the past, especially in terms of technology. However, the basic principles remain unchanged when it comes to high quality standards. We use German steel and predominantly German technology in the production of our products. - What types of knives do you offer, and which models are most popular among your international customers?
As a specialist manufacturer of professional knives, we offer a complete range, from slaughter knives to boning knives, as well as sharpening steels and accessories. Since requirements vary from country to country, we offer a wide range of products. This includes six different handle types, which are available in various colours. We also offer knives with an individual number and a matrix code to ensure traceability. New to our range are knives equipped with an RFID chip. - Are you currently seeking new distribution partners? In which markets are you looking to expand?
We export our knives to over 30 countries worldwide. However, there are still countries where we do not have a permanent presence. These include other countries. We are happy to receive enquiries. - What kind of support do you offer to your distributors (e.g., marketing materials, training, logistics)?
We train our business partners in the technical knowledge required for knife production. After all, only those who know the product inside out can explain it to potential customers. This is done in writing or through personal meetings. We often visit our partners’ customers with them to explain our products. We also have all kinds of advertising materials available. - Why should a distributor choose to partner with your company over others in the industry?
Our motto is to work with as few partners as possible in each country. The ideal scenario is exclusive representation. This has the great advantage for our partner that they can work undisturbed in their country and are not confronted with competition from the same product. This allows them to establish the product in their country at their own pace. It creates a relationship of trust, which is extremely important for successful cooperation.
