CARSOE WINS ANOTHER ORDER FOR A COMPLETE SHRIMP FACTORY

NIISA TRAWL IS HAVING ”REGINA C” BUILT AT METALSHIPS & DOCKS IN SPAIN. THE SHRIMP TRAWLER IS DUE TO START FISHING BY THE END OF 2018.

Just as the newly built trawler ”Svend C” from the Sikuaq Trawl in Greenland has been handed over after successful first fishing trips, the Christensen family has again chosen equipment for their new trawler ”Regina C” from Carsoe A/S in Denmark.

”It’s actually the 4th trawler we are supplying with process equipment to the Christensen family, if I take into account what we have supplied since the days of Carnitech. In fact we have some of the same people from back then to work on the process equipment for the latest trawlers,” says Carsoe CEO Mikkel Jacobsen.

STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT

The shrimp trawler ”Regina C” will eventually have a complete factory installed with an automatic separation of by catch, grading of the shrimps by size and a continuous cooking line. The shrimps will either be frozen in IQF tunnels or in automatically loaded and unloaded horizontal freezers. The frozen and packed shrimps are then set aside in a freezer “hotel” for later onboard pelletizing. The trawler will be outfitted for primarily shrimp fishery, but options for other fisheries have been incorporated into the design of the trawler. The equipment for the ”Regina C” is the fourth out of six contracts for a complete factory, that Carsoe has signed with different companies during the last 12 months.
