THE DANISH MANUFACTURER OF MODULAR PLASTIC CONVEYOR BELTS, SCANBELT HAS LANDED A CONTRACT WITH EUROPE’S LARGEST PROCESSING FACILITY FOR PELAGIC SPECIES, NORTHBAY PELAGIC. THE ORDER CONSISTS OF THE DELIVERY OF MORE THAN 3000 METERS OF MODULAR CONVEYOR BELTS OF HIGH HYGIENIC STANDARD.
When Northbay Pelagic needed a completely new factory due to an extensive fire, ScanBelt was chosen to deliver the largest modular belting order in food industries of 2015 thanks to their high quality products.
“Early in the process of rebuilding Northbay Pelagic, we began negotiating as we had already been delivering modular conveyor belts to the company for several years. Combined efforts, our hygienic belt design and recognized durability made us successfully land this order,” Carl Erik Taxbro, Vice President of Sales & Export at ScanBelt explains and continues:
“The company required an easy cleanable product with a high level of hygiene and a certain flexibility regarding delivery. Fortunately, we were able to meet these requirements and reach an agreement.”
STRICT DEMANDS ON HYGIENE
Suppliers for the global seafood industry have to follow some specific requirements before entering the market.
“Both within Europe, as well as on other continents, strict demands have been outlined regarding the hygienic level of products for the seafood industry. Raw materials have to be approved for direct contact with foodstuffs, and the design of the belts must be easy to clean. As we have developed the most hygienic products on the market, we have no problem accommodating these demands,” Carl Erik Taxbro says.
