IFFA 2025: Individual Installation Systems for the Thermal Treatment of Food

More efficient, more digital, more sustainable: an entire industry is seeking innovative answers to the questions of our time. The solutions for the thermal treatment of food have long been on the table. At IFFA 2025, the world’s most important trade fair for meat and protein processing, producers, master butchers and buyers can get a taste for them.

More than just a promise:
Efficient system solutions as a game changer in food processing
As one of the leading international companies for smoking, cooking, cooling, drying, baking, pasteurizing, fermenting and defrosting meat and sausage products, fish, cheese and snacks for animals, the traditional company VETEC ANLAGENBAU from Lower Saxony, Germany, is the first choice for pioneering solutions in installation engineering that promise maximum efficiency, quality and sustainability with minimal energy consumption. The family-run company relies on highly professional air systems that, for example, dry products significantly faster than conventional systems. “Where low-performance systems take considerably longer and overdry the product in some places, we rely on a perfect air roller movement that can be adapted to the product thanks to individually controllable air distribution,” says Andreas Sauer, Managing Director Sales at VETEC ANLAGENBAU. This saves food manufacturers a lot of money, as overdrying is associated with significant weight losses that are to be compensated with expensive meat additives to meet packing specifications. The Verden-based company recently received an award for one of these product innovations: 2024, the crossflow principle used in the AEROMAT CROSS POWER – for drying and/or smoking lying meat and sausage products such as brisket, bacon, jerky or dried pet food snacks – won the International FoodTec Award.

Standard-premium installations, but customized
The key is in understanding customer needs and engineering tailor-made solutions, adds owner Timo Krüger: “At VETEC ANLAGENBAU, we aim to create perfect installation systems for individual product and space requirements. This is achieved by using our fully equipped customer center as well as AI-supported flow simulations and 3D print models. Professional project management from the bidding phase through to acceptance and technological optimization complete our profile. And if anything doesn’t work perfectly, our outstanding service is always ready to assist.”

Digital control and seamless documentation
Process control is also a key factor in modern meat processing, says Andreas Sauer. The industry needs intelligent data and control systems – such as the MICROMAT ANALYZER. Digital solutions such as these enable seamless monitoring and documentation of all relevant process parameters, including chamber temperature, relative humidity, flow velocity and core and surface temperature. “Our system records the data automatically and thus ensures the highest quality standards,” says Sales Director Sauer. This is particularly important in economically challenging times and in view of rising energy prices. “Our MICROMAT ANALYZER calculates the energy consumption per production batch so that our customers can identify potential savings and optimize their costs.”

Focus on sustainability and energy efficiency
At the same time, the company is also keeping an eye on growing demands for climate friendly concepts. Energy-efficient heat recovery systems such as the ECO CON reduce energy consumption by pre-heating the cold fresh air with warm exhaust air, while innovative filter technologies such as the ECO AIRCLEAN F minimize pollutants and emissions by means of biological exhaust air purification. “Sustainability and increased efficiency can complement each other and work together,” says Andreas Sauer. The company is already looking forward to welcoming all visitors to IFFA (Hall 8.0, C90) and discussing innovative solutions for the meat industry.
