Focus on close customer relationships: New Weber Food Technology subsidiary to start operations in 2025.
In the spring of 2024, Weber Food Technology announced their plans to start a subsidiary in Italy and construct a new building for Weber Food Technology Italia Srl. Together with representatives of the local economy, the construction company and the former owners of the site, Jörg Schmeiser, Managing Director of Weber Food Technology GmbH, and the entire future Weber Italia Team met on 27 September in Neumarkt’s industrial park for the groundbreaking ceremony. The guest list included several political representatives as well: Karin Jost, Mayor of the town of Neumarkt, and some members of the community council attended the festivities, showing their support for the construction project.
With their own presence, Weber will take over the direct support of their Italian customers from their current sales partner, Niederwieser AG. “The founding of a subsidiary in Italy and the construction of this building are further steps toward providing comprehensive support and even closer relationships. Because, starting in 2025, our customers will benefit from having access to our entire portfolio – including consulting, project management, and after-sales support, as well as global software solutions and support structures,” Jörg Schmeiser emphasized. With this in mind, the new building, measuring over 1,500 sqm floor space, will have ample office space and a showroom for customer demonstrations, as well as a parts warehouse to quickly supply our customers. Completion of the building is scheduled for late 2025.
Since the late 1980s, Niederwieser has been responsible for representing Weber and its products and services in the Italian market. With the launch of Weber Food Technology Italia, all Niederwieser employees who were previously part of the Weber sales partnership will become part of the new Weber team. Gerhard Zöschg, Managing Director of Niederwieser AG from St. Jakob in Leifers, thanked his team for the many years of successful cooperation, and handed over the responsibility for the Italian market to the new Managing Director Tobia Cigana: “I am convinced that Tobia will successfully use his many years of industry experience, his close customer relationships and his vast know-how to develop the new Weber location.” Zöschg will continue to support the Weber Italy team in a consulting capacity. The company has already laid the groundwork for possible growth. The 7,200 sqm lot offers plenty of space and lots of options for further construction.
